“We had started the process of adopting a child back around June of 2009. We had been trying to have a child for about five-years with no luck and decided that we would move toward adopting a child. This was a very difficult decision for us, especially for Leah as we knew that adopting a child would mean that we would be looking at a toddler rather than a baby. The call we got on Sunday, February 7 was our case worker telling us that there was a woman in labor right then that was giving the child up for adoption and Department of Social Services offered it to us. This was an answer to prayer, showing us just how in control God is. We were the last couple on the list to receive an infant yet they called us. Rebecca Ann was born on Sunday, February 7^th at 8:38pm and we were holding her by 10:30pm and we brought her home last Wednesday, February 10^th. We are very excited to add Rebecca to our family and rejoice in the incredible blessing that she has been to Leah and myself. For those who ask, she was born 5 lbs 13 ounce and 18.5” long. She is healthy and eating like a horse! We appreciate all the prayers that were said for us while we went through the adoption process and would appreciate continued prayers until the paperwork is all finalized.”
