Compassionate Ministry --- Many of you have been reaching out to the needs of Haiti through prayer and giving. Amherst Pastor, Rev. Pat Flemings left on January 30th for two weeks in Haiti where he’ll help with the distribution of food, etc. Here’s a note from the Lowville Pastor, Rev. Keith Hardy. “Coach Bill and Janet, thank you for the opportunity to tell of the wonderful things God is doing in our church. This past Sunday, God lead us to take 10% of our mornings tithes and offering and to give it to the Haiti relief program. We also decided to offer to our congregation the opportunity to give above their weekly tithes to this offering. This was decided on very short notice. The church board approved this on the previous Wednesday during our monthly meeting. We did not let the congregation know that we were doing this until Sunday morning. I was blown away by the generosity of our congregation. I was hoping that we would raise between $300 - $350, but God went way beyond my limited faith. We raised $1100.00 for Haiti Relief. Thanking God for the wonderful opportunity to serve this congregation.

Compassionate Ministry Continued --- “Dear Coach and Miss Janet, I would like to share with you another grand instance of God's grace. On Sunday, January 17 after hearing and then sharing with the congregation the plea that came out of Haiti following the earthquake, we took a separate offering for Haiti after we had taken our regular tithes and offerings. Wow! What an outpouring of God's blessing did we witness. What was truly amazing was the fact that I shared, with the congregation that morning, that we would take a separate offering later. I was concerned that perhaps our regular tithes and offerings might be reduced in light of people wanting to give for the Haiti offering using their tithes for that purpose. Boy! How wrong one can be. Not only was the normal tithes and offerings above average but the offering for Haiti was an overwhelming $1435.00. Praise be to God. I was able to share with the body of Christ at Crossroads that with our faithful giving to God of His tithes, He in turned blessed the people of Haiti with financial aid through Crossroads Church of the Nazarene and many many others. Praise be to God! Pastor John Spencer
