A note from the NMI President
Welcome to the Nazarene Missions International page for the Upstate New York District Church of the Nazarene! As District NMI President I want you to know that we are serious about following our Lord Jesus in His mission.
Our purpose as the Upstate New York NMI is, in a nutshell, to mobilize the church to love and serve like He did. We are especially concerned to take the message of Jesus, forgiveness for sin, across cultural divides. Our prayer for our Nazarene family in Upstate New York and for the friends who come along with us is that we will be faithful to that call.
Let us know if we can be of service to you.
Rev. David Allison
Upstate New York District NMI President

Barry Carney — Key Note SpeakerBarry and Charlie Carney most recently served in Hot Springs, Arkansas at First Church of the Nazarene where Barry was the administrative and youth pastor. The Carneys served as global missionaries for 7 years; serving the Church of the Nazarene in El Paso as the Work and Witness Coordinators for USA/Canada with an emphasis on the border of Mexico and as the Work and Witness coordinators for the Church of the Nazarene in Argen- tina from 2001 - 2006. Barry and Charlie both attended Mid America Nazarene. They have 3 children: Andrew (18), who just graduated and will be attending MNU, Alex (15) and Alyssa (13). Prior to their first assignment as missionaries Barry was involved in the construction industry and Charlie stayed at home with the kids. They attended Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene where they were involved in ministry, especially children’s ministries. Barry has been furthering his education; working on his master’s in divinity and earlier this summer, he completed his ordination requirements and was ordained. They have had a passion for missions for many years and have a deep desire to serve God and to share His love wherever He may lead them. They are very excited that the Lord has called them back to the foreign mission field in Paraguay and Bolivia where they will be working with church development, work and witness and the Jesus Film. |
